Panels	Excellent Approximately 10 pages were used, and the story line progresses in a logical sequence.	Very Good Approximately 10 pages were used, but the reader is confused from one page or panel to the next.	Good Minimum requirement of pages/panels was not met, and the story line is not sequential	Fair Minimum requirement of pages/panels was not met, little to no evidence the book was read.
Comprehension	Excellent Displays an extensive understanding of the characters, plot and setting. Enhances meaning of the story for the reader.	Very Good Displays a clear understanding of the characters, plot and setting. However, it leaves the reader slightly confused as to the meaning of the story.	Good Displays a minimal understanding of the characters, plot and/or setting. Does not represent meaning at all.	Fair Does not display an understanding of the characters, plot and/or setting. Little evidence that the story was read.
Creativity	Excellent Project is creative, unique, and shows excellent originality and comprehension of story. Evidence that panels were well thought out.	Very Good Project is original; shows care and organization as well as decent comprehension of story.	Good Project shows little originality; clearly confusion in comprehension of story.	Fair Project contains no originality, creativeness or comprehension.
Artwork	Excellent Artwork is creative, attention to detail, captions and bubbles are easily defined. Follows story line. Synthesis and application of reading is evident with the use of symbolism.	Very Good Artwork is complete but missing color/definition. Some pictures do not fit the story line. Little symbolism is evident.	Good Artwork is done hastily, without thought, does not add to the story	Fair No artwork
