Overall Painting	Developing The student did not fill the picture plane. The landscape is drawn with pencil and/or little or no watercolor is present within the drawing.	Skilled The student created a landscape painting which fills most of the picture plane. Watercolors were used but in some areas the pencil drawing is still noticeable underneath.	Accomplished The student created a landscape painting using watercolors and filled the entire picture plane.	Student	Teacher
Accuracy of Landscape	Developing The landscape is drawn with only one level (the landscape only includes one of the following: a foreground, middle ground or background).	Skilled The landscape is drawn with a foreground and background but no middle ground is visible.	Accomplished The landscape is clearly drawn with a foreground, middle ground and background. Watercolors	Developing The application of the watercolor was not done in a neat or creative manner. The watercolor looks sloppy, as though no effort was put into the project.
