Student had more than one paragraph each of which had a strong topic sentence, strong supporting details organized in logical sequence and good closing/transitional sentences between paragraphs.

Paper was clean and neat, but was not written in cursive or typed. Print was neat.

Paper was clean, not torn, with no more than one scratch out. It was typed or written in cursive.
Exceeds Expectations

Paper was clean, not torn, had not scratch outs and was written in beautiful cursive or typed.
Art

Below Expectations

Picture showed little effort.
Approaching Expectations

Picture was neatly drawn, but less than the required size and/or not in color.
Meets Expectations

Picture was of the character, in color, and neatly drawn. It was at least 8.5 x 11.
Exceeds Expectations

Picture was well executed, in color, showed pride of workmanship and had an appropriate background to the story.
