Finding the Area of Polygons and Quadrilaterals-Decomposing
Finding the Area of Polygons and Quadrilaterals
Students were to create a figure using quadrilaterals, polygons, or both on grid paper. Students were asked to choose a value for each square unit. Using that value and the formulas used for finding area, students were to calculate the total surface area of the figure in squared units. Finally, students were to explain their answer using appropriate math vocabulary.
