The Lyrics' notion/The melody's motion: A Musical Marriage
A 'marriage of good lyrics/melody' has the melody describing in sound what the lyrics demonstrate in words. The class has to draw the lyrics of the phrase, "let our rejoicing rise" showing the tonal flow of the melody, while labeling the intervals (step/leap).
