Literary Analysis Essay Rubric 
After reading the following selections by writers of the American Revolution, craft a literary analysis essay that develops a reasoned understanding of the ideas shared between these writers and supports the understanding with references to the texts. Your writing should also include elaboration that describes in what manner these ideas can be seen in modern conceptions of the American life. Essential Questions to Include: What is their view of God? What are their values? How do they define truth? Are they optimistis or pessimists about life? What is their view of society? Who is their ultimate authority? What is their view of education? Do they view mankind as inherently good, evil, or something in between?
