Fluency	Unsatisfactory Little or no response to any of the material presented. Student exhibited virtually no understanding of question.	Fair Student was able to respond to the question but hesitated before answering. Many long pauses.	Good Fairly competent speaking skills demonstrated (perhaps a few pauses) and reasonable attempt at answer question.	Excellent Student showed all the qualities of someone who has great competence using intermediate Spanish. Answered the question with ease.
Grammar	Unsatisfactory Virtually no grammar skills displayed	Fair Could derive meaning from respons, but with several grammatical errors.	Good Used grammar as taught in class but made a few minor errors.	Excellent Little or no grammar errors. Showed almost complete mastery of the grammar covered in class.
Vocabulary	Unsatisfactory Little or none of the vocabulary covered in class was used.	Fair Limited vocabulary hampered overall ability to answer question. Could however derive meaning from response.	Good Used vocabulary taught in class with a few minor errors.	Excellent Close to perfect use of vocabulary. Slight errors.

Fair Had difficulty with pronunciation, intonation and some confusion. However could derive meaning from response. Perhaps a little difficult to hear.
