What topics are covered? If someone asked what this article/book is about, what would you say? The length of your annotations will determine how detailed your summary is.
Basic
Inadequate description of study, how study was undertaken, results of study & recommendations or applications to present research or your interest area.
Proficient
Aspects of summary included but some of the important information was missing.
Some annotations merely summarize the source.
Brief summary and assessment of the reference (type of research, participants, major findings, quality and rigor of the reference, etc.)
Distinguished
All important information was described well, why study was conducted, where, methods, results, and application.
