Story	1 Story is not appropriate for the operation chosen or attempted.	2 Story is incomplete in some way and does not execute a division or multiplication operation.	3 Student has chosen a complete story that aligns with multiplication or division, but the quality of writing could improve.	4 Student has chosen a story that is well written and is perfect for either multiplication or division.
Representation	1 Students' steps show no representations of his/her story.	2 Student's steps representations are attempted but incomplete or accurate. Student does not show the picture, number sentence, and one other representation.	3 Student's step representations are aligned with the story, but there are a few errors.	4 Student's step representations are accurate, complete and align with the story.
Neatness	1 Students work is extremely mess. Lots of stray marks and is not legible.	2 Students work is somewhat neat	3 Students work is neat for the most part.	4 Students work is extremely neat.
