This paper is extremely well organized and shows a great understanding of the thesis. Evidence is presented in a logical order.
Good

This paper is well organized, coherent and supports the thesis. However, evidence supporting the topic is only good.
Fair

This is somewhat general and has minimal clarity. Slightly supports the thesis but is weak.
Poor

This to general and unclear. There is no understanding as to the topic. It does not support the thesis. Evidence of research does not exist.
Mechanics

Excellent

Use of standard English and sentence structure is coherent. Paragraphs are well developed and there is transition. The paper has an introduction and a conclusion.
Good

A majority of the paper is written using standard English. Paragraphs and transition are good. The introduction and conclusion need some improvement.
Fair

There is no consistent use of standard English. Paragraphs and transition need great improvement. Introduction and conclusion is minimal.
Poor

Use of standard English does not exist. The paper is disjointed and shows no coherent introduction and conclusion.

Below Standard. Format is weak. Topics are shows some evidence of research. Presentation is somewhat organized. Graphics are weak.
Poor

Far Below Standards. Format does not follow the assignment. There is no evidence of research. It is poorly organized and difficult to understand. Graphics poor.
Oral Presentation

Excellent

Student demonstrates exceptional knowledge of the topic. The essential question is answered.
Good

Student shows a good concept of the topic. The esssential question is somewhat addressed.
Fair

Student shows some knowledge of the topic but does not address the essential question.
Poor

This student was not organized or prepared to give a presentation of the topic. There is no understanding of the essential question.
