Events are written about but does not read fluently	Fair Student sequences and attempts to write about steps/events but some lack of written fluency.	Good Student sequences and writes about all steps/events showing complete understanding of process.
Mechanics	Poor Student does not show understanding of punctuation or capitalization rules.	Fair Student adds periods at the end of a sentence and capitals at the beginning.	Good Student uses punctuation such as periods, commas, and quotation marks. The student also utilizes all capitalization rules.
Transitional Words	Poor The student does not use any transitional words to show sequence.	Fair The student attempts to use a transitional word, but it may not show the correct sequence of their event.	Good The student uses the correct transitional words to sequence their event in the story.
