Guided Reading Miss Glover's Guided Reading Rubric This rubric will allow me to gauge students ability to predict, comprehend, and retell the story, as well as fluency. Rubric Code: T4W826 By jmperlini Draft Public Rubric Subject: English Type: Reading Grade Levels: K-5

Guided Reading

Prediction	1 Student shows little to no ability to predict what story will be about.	2 Student provides some ideas about what may occur in the story.	3 Student gives several ideas about what may occur in the story.	4 Student gives several ideas about what may occur in the story and gives rich detail, supported by information they have already gathered from the book (pictures, title, etc.).
Comprehension	1 Student shows little to no understanding of what story was about when questioned.	2 Student shows some understanding of what story was about when questioned.	3 Student is able to answer questions about book sufficiently.	4 Student gives detailed answers to questions about story, supported by evidence in the story (pictures, title, etc.).
Retell	1 Student can retell little to no parts of the story.	2 Student can retell a basic outline of the story.	3 Student can retell story with sufficient detail.	4 Student can retell story with rich detail, supported by evidence in the story (pictures, title, etc.).
Fluency	1 Student reads haltingly and frequently has difficulty decoding words.	2 Student reads slowly, stopping frequently to decode words.	3 Student reads story at a good pace with few errors.	4 Student reads story fluently with no pauses and no decoding difficulties.
Strategies	1 Student does not accuratley use reading strategies.	2 Student sometimes uses reading strategies with frequent prompting.	3 Student uses reading strategies accurately, needs occasional prompting.	4 Student uses reading strategies accurately and independently.
