Reading Log Reading Log After reading a book of your own choosing reflect on what you have read. Rubric Code: T48W39 By nonlkb Ready to use Public Rubric Subject: English Type: Reading Grade Levels: 6-8

Independent Reading
	Poor 60 pts	Adequate 80 pts	Excellent 100 pts
Chooses appropriate book	Poor Student chooses a book well below reading level that he/she has read before.	Adequate Student chooses a book which he/she has never read before and which is slightly below his/her reading level.	Excellent Student chooses a book which he/she has not read before, which is at or slightly above their reading level.
Stays on Task	Poor Student reads some of the time (less than 50%).	Adequate Student reads most of the time (75%)	Excellent Student reads all the time (100%).
Writes in Log	Poor Student does not write in log at all or writes very little and is missing several entries. Dates and page numbers are missing. Does not write in complete sentences.	Adequate Student writes some in his/her log for most 10 min. reading sessions. Student includes date and page numbers for most entries. Most titles are listed on book log and in the first entry for the book.	Excellent Student completes his/her log for each 10 min. reading session. Student includes date and page numbers. Titles are entered on book log and in first entry for each book.
