Volleyball: Overhand Serve Volleyball: Overhand Serve Evaluation on the skill of underhand and overhand serving a volleyball. Students are rated and scored on the mechanics of their serving, not the number of serve landing inbounds. Underhand/Overhand Serve

Feet	Needs Improvement Does not attempt to complete the progression of elements stated.	Progressing Gaining a consistency of lining up. Does not lead with the correct foot. Needs time to gain consistency and quickly work through the progression of the elements stated.	Proficient Stand behind the endline, facing the net. Staggered, feet pointing to a target in bounds. Backfoot is the striking foot.	Advanced Stand behind the endline, facing the net. Staggered, feet pointing to a target in bounds. Backfoot is the striking foot. Toe drags at contact and follow-through Very consistent. This process works without hesitation.
Toss/Pre-Strike	Needs Improvement Does not attempt to complete the progression of elements stated.	Progressing Tosses ball inconsistently (in front, behind, too high or low). Striking arm is loose and does not form bow and arrow before contact. Needs time to gain consistency and quickly work through the progression of the elements stated.	Proficient Tosses at a level above the head in front of the body. Striking arm forms bow and arrow before contact	Advanced Very consistent toss which allows for same contact point every time.
