MA.1.AR.2 Develop an understanding of the relationship between addition and subtraction.	Poor Student does not create word problems using addition and subtraction and shows no understanding of addition and subtraction.	Fair Student has some correct use of addition and subtraction in their word problems.	Good Student correctly created addition and subtraction word problems.
MA.1.AR.1 Solve addition problems with sums between 0 and 20 and subtraction problems using related facts.	Poor Student didn't solve any of their word problems or solved them incorrectly.	Fair Student used low numbers and didn't go up to 20 but answered them correctly.	Good Student used a range of numbers up to 20 and answered them all correctly.
MA.1.AR.1.2 Solve addition and subtraction real-world problems using objects, drawings or equations to represent the problem.	Poor Student created a math garden but did not use any shapes to represent their word problems.	Fair Student created a math garden but did not use the full amount of flowers, plants, fruits/vegetables, and animals to represent their word problems.	Good Student created a math garden and used all of the shapes and flowers, plants, fruits/vegetables, and animals required to represent their word problems.
MA.1.NSO.2.2 Add two whole numbers with sums from 0 to 20, and subtract using related facts with procedural reliability.	Poor Student did not create word problems that involved subtraction using related facts.	Fair Student only created 1-2 subtraction problems using related facts and didn't word them completely right.	Good Student created 2+ subtraction problems using related facts correctly.
