Depth/Content	Excellent The map has all of the required content and elements. The student demonstrates an indepth knowledge of the content.	Good The map has almost all of the required content and elements. The student demonstrates a solid understanding of content.	Fair The map has most of the required content and elements. The student demonstrates an emerging understanding of content.	Poor The map has only a few of the required content elements. The student demonstrates a lack of understanding of content.
Design/Organization	Excellent The map is well layed out, the font is a good size, and it easy to read.	Good The map is pretty well layed out, it is mostly easy to read and to interpret.	Fair Some ideas are difficult to read, but the overall layout is good.	Poor The layout is poor and difficult to read.
Creativity	Excellent The map is interesting to the eye and uses colors that work well together. The creator thought about the creativity in his/her map	Good The map looks good. It is fairly creative, but not as creative as it could be.	Fair Some of the colors do not work well together making parts of the map difficult to read.	Poor The colors are conflicting, and it is very difficult to read the map.
Connections	Excellent Connections indicate superior organization/ understanding and enhance meaning. Arrows easily connect concepts in an informative manner.	Good Connections are clear and logical. They connect concepts to promote clarity and convey meaning.	Fair Connections are somewhat clear and convey some meaning.	Poor Connections aren't clear, they convey little meaning and do not promote clarity.
