World Language Reading Comprehension Rubric World Language Reading Comprehension Students are given a reading assignment and they have to be able to answer questions in the target language related to the reading. This assignment will not only assess reading comprehension in another language, but also assess grammar and vocabulary acquisition. Vocabulary	Exceeds Expectations I fully understand and use vocabulary from the reading. I apply all of the vocabulary words with appropriate meaning and correct spelling.	Meets expectation I understand most of the vocabulary words from the reading and the reading comprehension questions. I applied most of the vocabulary words with the correct meaning and spelling.	Developing Understanding I understand some of the vocabulary words from the reading and the reading questions. I only applied some of the vocabulary words with the correct meaning and spelling.	Not yet demonstrating understanding I did not understand most of the vocabulary words and I could not apply them correctly.
Grammar	Exceeds Expectations I used the target language properly, including spelling, and my grammar is consistently correct. I consistently use accents and punctuation correctly.	Meets expectation Very few spelling, grammar, and punctuation mistakes are evident, but do not change the meaning of my answers.
