Ability to focus.	Emerging I was not able to concentrate on the listening task and was easily distracted and inattentive.	Partially Proficient I found it difficult to concentrate on the listening task, but was able to attend occasionally.	Proficient I was mostly attentive and usually able to listen with good concentration.	Advanced I was able to concentrate fully and listen very attentively throughout the lesson.
General understanding.	Emerging I did not understand enough vocabulary or information to participate in the class.	Partially Proficient I did not understand a lot of the vocabulary and information, but I tried my best to understand.	Proficient I understood most of the vocabulary and information.	Advanced I have a very good general understanding of all vocabulary and information and had the ability to elaborate in discussion.
Listening for details.	Emerging I was unable to grasp specific details when listening, and did not include them while completing their project.	Partially Proficient Although I showed a limited ability to listen for details, specific information was used to complete their project.	Proficient I was able to include most specific information and details in my project, and give details about it.	Advanced I included all the specific information and details in my project and describe the important meaning of my project.
