Soft Pastels Landscape Principles of Design Project Choose a landscape that has meaning to you. Create the landscape using soft pastels. Knowledge Shown: Elements of Art & Principles of Design	Poor Student did not demonstrate a knowledge of the Elements of Art and Principles of Design.	Fair Student demonstrates a very limited knowledge of the Elements of Art and Principles of Design.	Good Student demonstrates a beginning level of knowledge of the Elements of Art and Principles of Design.	Excellent Student incorporated their obvious knowledge of the Elements of Art and Principles of Design.
Craftmanship	Poor The work was poor, possibly sloppy and time was not used wisely. More attention to detail should have been used.	Fair The work was fair. Time may not have been used well. The piece of artwork may have looked unfinished.	Good The work was good, but the student could have used their time more wisely and paid more attention to the details.	Excellent The student took their time and did excellent work. The student paid good attention to detail.
Creativity	Poor The student did not get very creative.	Fair There was some creativity there, but more could have been done.	Good The student started to push outside the box and come up with a creative solution to the assignment.	Excellent The student was very creative, thought outside the box, but still incorporated the point of the assignment.
Use of Material	Poor Student did not clean up after themselves, or mistreated the materials.	Fair Student did not quite handle the materials in the way they were taught.	Good Student used the materials correctly but could have used them better.	Excellent Student followed the directions given with the materials, and used them effectively in their artwork.
Atmospheric Prospective	Poor Atmospheric perspective was not even attempted	Fair The student used/attempted atmospheric perspective in less than 20% of artwork	Good The student attempted to use atmospheric prospective but was successful through out the entire artwork	Excellent The use of atmospheric prospective was used correctly in the artwork
