PUNCTUALITY
Excellent
Student is on time regularly or early for class.
Good
Student is usually on time or early with no more than one tardy.
Fair
Student is sometimes on time with no more than 2 tardies.
Poor
Student is often late, three or more times. Zero points for 5+ tardies.
LEVEL OF ENGAGEMENT AND BEHAVIOR
Excellent
Student often asks questions, participates in pair/group discussions. Student proactively contributes to class by offering ideas. Uses technology at appropriate times.
Good
Student sometimes asks questions, and participates in pair/group discussions. May have used cell phone or other electronic devices at least once at inappropriate times.
Fair
Student rarely participates in class, struggles with pair/group discussions. May have used cell phone or other electronic devices at least once at inappropriate times.
Poor
Student never participates in class, does not participate in pair/group discussions. May have used cell phone or other electronic devices at least once at inappropriate times.
PREPARATION
Excellent
Student is always prepared for class with required materials. Student takes notes without being prompted to.
Good
Student is usually prepared for class with required materials. Student may need to be prompted to take notes.
Fair
Student is frequently unprepared for class and without required materials. Student may need to be prompted to take notes.
Poor
Student is almost always unprepared for class and without required materials. Student may need to be prompted to take notes.
Listening Skills
Excellent
Student listens when others talk, both in groups and in class. Student incorporates or builds off of the ideas of others. Student does not dominated discussion.
Good
Student listens when others talk, both in groups and in class.
Fair
Student does not listen when others talk, both in groups and in class. Student is "tuned out".
Poor
Student does not listen when others talk, both in groups and in class. Student often interrupts when others speak. Student blurts out in class.
