Football: Passing and Catching 
Secondary evaluation of the fundemental skill of passing and catching a football. Students are rated and scored on the mechanics of their passing and catching is the primary emphasis and accuracy is the secondary emphasis. There are 18 points possible.

Grip:

all fingers on top, thumb underside.

Uses both hands, can not hang on to ball with one hand.

Hangs on with one hand, but needs to choke up on the ball to gain more control of ball.

Uses four fingers on top, thumb on underside. Able to keep control of ball and successfully chokes up on the ball to keep control of the football.

Follow through and accuracy

Does not attempt to follow through with the palm or thumb finishing down.

Gaining a stronger attempt at follow through of the palm and thumb finishing down. Lacks distance and consistent spiral motion.

Palm turns out, ball comes off the index finger, thumb finishes down. Ball moves in a spiral turn most of the attempted throw.

Catching the Football
