Sentences can make five basic kinds of statements: conditional, declarative, exclamatory, imperative or interrogative. There are four types of sentences: simple, compound, complex and compound-complex.

Underlining, circling and adding end punctuation.
Innovating
The student accurately dissects ALL four (4) types of sentences by underlining the independent clause(s), circling the dependent clause(s) and adding end punctuation.
Applying
The student dissects at least THREE of the four types of sentences by underlining the independent clause(s), circling the dependent clause(s) and adding end punctuation.
Developing
The student dissects at least TWO of the four types of sentences by underlining the independent clause(s), circling the dependent clause(s) and adding end punctuation.
Beginning
