Cut Up Abstract Painting Create an abstract painting based on a particular color scheme. Cut up the painting and assemble into 3-D painting.

Understanding Demonstration that instructions and concepts are understood.	Above average The student understands most of the instruction and concepts. Creating of abstract painting. Cut up the painting and reassemble successfully.	Average The student understand some of the instructions and comments. Creating of abstract piece, not as much success assembling collage.	Needs Improvement The students shows very little understanding of instructions and comments.	Unsatisfactory The student shows no understanding of directions and concepts.
Craftsmanship/Skill Neatness and care. Painting and assembling.	Above average The student's artwork is well crafted with some attention to detail.	Average The student's artwork shows and average amount of craftsmanship and attention to detail. Could have used different colors in painting, assembling.	Needs Improvement The student's artwork shows little evidence of crafsmanship and attention to detail.	Unsatisfactory The student's work shows very poor crafsmanship and no attention to detail. No experimentation with materials.
Creativity/Originality Use of imagination to project their own.	Above average The student's artwork demonstrates some to above average personal expression and problem solving skills.	Average The student's artwork demonstrates an average amount of personal expression and problem solving skills.	Needs Improvement The student's artwork demonstrates very little personal expression and problem solving skills.	Unsatisfactory The student's artwork lacks any evidence of personal expression or problem solving skills.
Effort/Perserverance Finished project as well as they possibly could, the amount of class time was well utilized	Above average The student put forth the effort to finish their project and did it well for the alloted time.	Average The student put forth the effort to finish-used allotted time adequately.	Needs Improvement The student put forth the effort required to finish the art work-although it stills lacks something. Class time was not used adequately.	Unsatisfactory The student did not try at all,the project was unfinished or incomplete.
Self-Reflection	Above average Critique of work is very concise and clearly written.	Average Wrote critique, but didn't put as much forth into answers.	Needs Improvement Poorly expressed their artwork.	Unsatisfactory Did not complete written critique.
