Animal Report Animal Report Students are selecting an animal, researching and writing about their animal, and creating a slide show presentation using Kid Pix software. The presentation should tell about where their animal lives, what their animal eats, what their animal looks like, and any interesting facts about their animal. Students will write their report notes on pre-printed word webs and then create an individual word web using Kidspiration software. Animal Report
	Beginning 1 pts	Developing 2 pts	Secure 3 pts
Grammar and Spelling	Beginning Very frequent grammar and/or spelling errors.	Developing Student has five or more spelling and/or grammar errors.	Secure Student has little or no spelling and/or grammar errors.
What The Animal Looks Like	Beginning Description of animal is inaccurate or does not give any improtant details. No picture of animal, or picture was very small.	Developing Gives a description of animal but leaves out a couple of important features. Picture is present but not labeled.	Secure Gives an accurate description of how the animal looks, and has a detailed picture with important parts labeled.
About The Animal's Needs	Beginning Does not list any items that the animal eats.	Developing Lists one or two items that the animal eats.	Secure Lists three or more items that the animal eats, and includes pictures on the page.
Where The Animal Lives	Beginning Gives little or no details about where the animal is found and includes very few facts about the animals habitiat.	Developing Gives some details about where the animal is found in the world,but only includes some facts about the animals habitat.	Secure Gives details about where in the world the animal is found, and tells many facts about it's habitat.
Interesting Facts	Beginning Gives little or no interesting facts about the animal.	Developing Give one or two interesting facts about the chosen animal.	Secure Student has given three or more interesting facts about their chosen animal.
Slide Show Presentation	Beginning No pictures, or pictures are too small to see, many of the important facts are not included on the slide show.	Developing Pictures are okay, somewhat clearly labeled, and most of the important facts are included on the slide show.	Secure Pictures are large enough to see clearly and are labeled, it has a visible title, and all the important facts are included on the slide show.
Listens to Other Presentations	Beginning Sometimes is not listening and is being disruptive.	Developing Sometimes is not listening, but is not being disruptive.	Secure Listens intently. Does not make distracting noises or movements.
