Culture	Poor Student does not demonstrate knowledge of cultural context.	Fair Student provides little background information about Elizabethan culture and its implications on the text.	Good Student provides sufficient background information, but their argument about its impacts on the text could be refined.	Excellent Student demonstrates that they understand Elizabethan culture and how it impacted Hamlet. Student has provided sufficient evidence to defend their argument.
Presentation	Poor Presentation does not meet the minimum requirement of slides, and it has very few images and demonstrations of creativity.	Fair Presentation meets the minimum requirement of slides, but it could use improvement aesthetically (images, colors, themes).	Good Presentation has many images and is fairly engaging to the viewers.	Excellent Presentation is vibrant and full of images and color. Presentation is engaging and exceeds expectations.
Genre	Poor Student displays little to no knowledge of the genre.	Fair Student provides little defining information about the genre of tragedy, but demonstrates a small understanding of it.	Good Student clearly defines the genre, but could provide more information about how it is used in Hamlet.	Excellent Student demonstrates understanding of the workings of genre in Hamlet. The genre of tragedy has been clearly defined, and all claims about its impacts on the play have been thoroughly supported.
