Demonstrates excellent knowledge of the choreography with accuracy. The student is extremely prepared and knows the routine.

Demonstrates knowledge of choreography. Keeps up with group. Some errors.
Beginning (B)

Demonstrates little knowledge of choreography and unsure of movements. Sometimes hesitates, watches others and makes several errors
Tempo/Rhythm

Exceeding (E)

Stays on beat and rhythm throughout the dance.
Meeting (M)

Accurate in beat and rhythms of dance sequences throughout the dance.
Approaching (A)

Generally accurate in beat, and rhythms of dance sequences most of the time.
Beginning (B)

Shows a basic understanding of the beat, but falls behind and/or speeds up in places or makes errors in rhythm.
Performance Skills

Exceeding (E)

The dancer communicates his/her dance with thorough effectiveness through eye contact and facial and body expression.
Meeting (M)

The dancer communicates his/her dance with considerable effectiveness through eye contact and facial and body expression.
Approaching (A)

The dancer communicates his/her dance with some effectiveness through eye contact and facial and body expression.
Beginning (B)

The dancer communicates his/her dance with limited effectiveness through eye contact and facial and body expression..
Group Work

Exceeding (E)

Student always displays excellent effort during class. Always tries their hardest and communicates with the group and provide assistance.
Meeting (M)

Very good effort during class. Tries hard and gives advice to the group and communicates with the group and provide advice.
Approaching (A)

Student tries to do their best. Attempts to do their best. Attempts to communicate with the group and provide some advice.
Beginning (B)

Lacks effort and participation during class. Does not communicate with the group and does not make contributions.
