Participation in Class Discussions	Excellent Student is engaged in class by adding to the class learning during all class discussions. Participation is timely and supplemental.	Strong Student is often engaged and attentive in class by adding to the class learning during all class discussions. There are sporadic attempts to participation.	Fair Student struggles to remain engaged in class discussion, but appears attentive. There is little attempt to participate.	Needs Improvement Student is minimally engaged in class discussion. If called upon, student is unresponsive. There is no attempt to participate.
Attendance and Promptness to Class	Excellent Student's attendance is perfect with no tardiness.	Strong Student's has no more than three absences and has notified instructor of absences prior to class time. There is no tardiness.	Fair Student's has no more than three absences, but did not notify instructor of absences prior to class time. There is one tardiness.	Needs Improvement Student has more than three absences and made no attempt to contact instructor. Student struggles with getting to class on time.
Effort	Excellent Student participates and offers college level discussion and work on all activities. Student doesn't attempt to impede any other student's attempt to display his/her own level of effort and participation.	Strong Student frequently participates and offers college level discussion and work on all activities. Student doesn't attempt to impede any other student's attempt to display his/her own level of effort and participation.	Fair Student impedes class discussion and activities by occasionally interrupting or distracting by chatting.	Needs Improvement Student impedes class discussion and activities by continuously interrupting or distracting by chatting.
Attitude	Excellent Student always displays a positive attitude toward learning and sharing knowledge with others.	Strong Student usually displays a positive attitude toward learning and sharing knowledge with others.	Fair Although the student is usually positive in attitude, he/she displayed negative attitude two or more times. However, the student attempted to make adjustments in order a healthier attitude.	Needs Improvement Involvement in class activity seems to be an inconvenience and intrusion. Student ignores instructor's attempts to help rectify.
