Ideas Student is able to identify the main ideas of the videos and class discussion using their own words and/or ideas.	Level 5 Identifies complex and insightful ideas from the videos and discussion. Student may present new and creative ideas.	Level four Identifies all main ideas from the videos and discussion. Student is able to explain their answer clearly in their own words.	Level three Identifies most of the main ideas from the videos and discussion. Student copies or repeats information from the videos or discussion.	Level two Identifies one or two basic ideas from the videos and discussion. Student may have trouble explaining their ideas in writing.	Level one Unable to identify or state important ideas within the text.
Mechanics Student is able to compose their ideas in grammatically correct complete sentences.	Level 5 Student uses mature language that uses complex sentence structure and indicates they proofread and edited their responses for a thoughtful reply.	Level four Student is able to compose a coherent response with perhaps one or two errors in grammar, spelling or syntax. Their work appears to have been proofread.	Level three Student is able to compose a coherent response in complete sentences but has more than 3 errors in grammar, spelling or syntax. Their work does not appear to have been proofread.	Level two Student is able to compose a basic response but it has not been written in complete sentences. In addition, there are errors in grammar, spelling or syntax. Work does not appear to have been proofread.	Level one Unable to compose their ideas into grammatically correct sentence. Student did not proofread their work and/or has made 5 or more errors in their written response.
