	Excellent 4 pts	Good 3 pts	Fair 2 pts	Poor 1 pts
Addresses Topic Makes a statement or starts a discussion concerning assigned topic.	Excellent The assigned topic is a central part of the scene and creates a strong starting point for discussion of that topic.	Good Scene addresses the assigned topic but gets distracted from it.	Fair Scene rarely touches on the assigned topic.	Poor Scene does not address assigned topic at all.
Format/Grammar The scene is structured properly.	Excellent The scene follows the playwriting format and rules of proper grammar.	Good The scene usually follows the playwriting format and rules of proper grammar with a few minor mistakes.	Fair The scene sometimes follows the playwriting format and rules of proper grammar, but suffers from a number of mistakes.	Poor The scene does not adhere to the rules of playwriting format or grammar.
Conflict The scene has a clear conflict.	Excellent The conflict is clear.	Good The conflict is strong but distracted.	Fair The conflict is unfocused.	Poor There is no conflict.
Character Characters and motivations are fully formed.	Excellent Characters and intentions are fully formed.	Good Characters and intentions are mostly formed.	Fair Characters and intentions are not fully formed.	Poor Characters and intentions are unformed.
