Entries Show Reading Effort & Focus	Exceeds Standards 4 or more entries each week. Entries address events, characters' actions, or your connections or thoughts while reading.	Achieves Standards 3 entries each week. Entries address events and characters from the book.	Approaches Standards 2 entries each week. Entries address one event from the book.	Area of Concern 1 or no entries per week.
Writing is Neat and Legible	Exceeds Standards Writing is neat and legible, with a well-written paragraph or more.	Achieves Standards Writing is neat and legible with at least 5 sentences.	Approaches Standards Some writing difficult to read, but show show an attempt to record reading.	Area of Concern Errors are obvious; not much effort.
