Excellent
Student demonstrates full knowledge by answering all class questions with explanations and elaboration. Thorough coverage of entire course assignment.
Visual Aids/Class Participation
Poor
Student uses superfluous or no visual aids. No creativity and audience is bored.
Fair
Some visual aids used. Demonstrates some creativity.
Good
Visual aids relate to text and presentation. Some creativity engages the audience during some of the presentation.
Excellent
Visual aids creatively explain and reinforce screen text and presentation. High creativity engages audience for most of the presentation.
Mechanics
Poor
Student's presentation has four or more spelling errors and/or grammatical errors. No citations of sources used.
Fair
Presentation has three misspellings and/or grammatical errors. Some citations of sources.
Good
Presentation has no more than two misspellings and/or grammatical errors. Citations provided for most major sources.
Excellent
Presentation has no misspellings or grammatical errors. All major sources cited.
Eye Contact
Poor
Student reads all of report with no eye contact.
Fair
Student occasionally uses eye contact, but still reads most of report.
Good
Student maintains eye contact most of the time but frequently returns to notes.
Excellent
Student maintains eye contact with audience, seldom returning to notes.
Elocution
Poor
Student mumbles, incorrectly pronounces terms, and speaks too quietly for students in the back of class to hear.
Fair
Student's voice is low. Student incorrectly pronounces terms. Audience members have difficulty hearing presentation.
Good
Student's voice is clear. Student pronounces most words correctly. Most audience members can hear presentation.
Excellent
Student uses a clear voice and correct, precise pronunciation of terms so that all audience members can hear presentation.
Group Coordination
Poor
Members of the group appear to be working independently during the presentation instead of coordinating.
Fair
The group appears to have followed through on some planning strategy. There is some confusion about the roles.
Good
Evidence of some prior coordination with all group members. Each person in the group effectively contributes to the overall presentation.
Excellent
Well coordinated and presented information with smooth transitions between members. Group members appear to have worked cooperatively. Equal roles are played by all group members.
