Design / Creativity	Poor No thought to final outcome. No consistent design on the tesselations.	Fair The design is inconsisent. Different shapes were used in erroneous fashion.	Good For the most part, the design being attempted is recognizable and there is good effort on the students' part.	Excellent Fully completed. The student demonstrates complete comprehension of how to make tessellations. Extra art work: created a design or picture with the pattern piece.
Neatness	Poor Sloppy, figures overlap, there are gaps.	Fair There are a few figures that overlap, but the majority are aligned. Pattern not complete or colored	Good There are a couple, but overall it gives the appearance of perfection at first glance. Neatness-most of pattern is connected correctly, coloring is sloppy	Excellent There are no overlapping figures or gaps in the tessellation. Neatness-pattern completed correctly, all patterns colored in completely
