Excellent/Strong
Used all requirements, colorless blender, has a background that shows movement. Used 8 to 10 colors; colors are used to complement each other. Student brought their outside packaging for color choice. Has a minimum of seven rings in negative space.Used a mixed color in the project including black and used their own name.
Standard Good/ Approaching
Used most of the requirements:
colorless blender, negative space is filled but could have been planned better. The whole design has some interesting elements.
Approaching/ emerging
Used some of the requirements but greater care could have been taken when applying color.

Used only a few requirements and there obvious signs of lack of application of color.
Technical Skills in Media
Excellent/Strong
Consistent high quality of technical skills observed in art work. Strong application of media. Exceeds assignment objectives. Artwork shows great care, edges are clean and neat along with no rips or tears along the edges.
Standard Good/ Approaching
Success with most aspects of technical skills of media. Has shown a strength in one media or technical area more than others. Fulfills assignment objectives with personal solutions and applications of skills.Edges are clean but has some distress along the edges.
Approaching/ emerging
Simplistic/ somewhat successful techniques in technical skills of media. Missing some of assignment objectives. A lack of care of the project.
Inadequate/ Poor
Poor qualities observed in technical skills ability of media. Missing part or all of project assignment objectives. Artwork has torn edges and is show a lack of care and respect for the work itself.
Critical Evaluation & Response
Excellent/Strong
The student responds to and analyzes their artwork of self by interpret, evaluating and justifying artistic decisions. Uses the teachers suggestions wisely and great use of classroom time and outside time was used to help the student to further the project.
Standard Good/ Approaching
The student responds to and analyzes their artwork of self by evaluating and justifying artistic decisions. Could have spent more classroom time wisely and outside of the classroom.
Approaching/ emerging
The student attempts to respond to their artwork by justifying but does not make clear sense. Classroom time and outside the classroom student did very little work on the assignment
Inadequate/ Poor
The student's response is not evident at all. It is unclear if they have a understanding of elements and principles of design. Wasted classroom time and there was not outside
