Student creates an ABA phrase, but does not include levels or kick ball change.

Student chooses an appropriate movement for either A and B, includes low and High movement but sometimes relies on others to change from one movement to the next.
Excellent
Student(s) work individually or in a group to demonstrate their creativity in choreographing an ABA dance phrase. Student(s) chooses appropriate movement for the A and B section which includes levels high and low and uses the syncopated rhythm of the kick ball change. The movements compliment the musical selection and A phrase is completed in the beginning and end.

Student demonstrates an appropriate movement for the A section, and changes movements when the musical selection switches to B. Student then switches back to the A movement. Student hears when the music changes, and immediately moves to demonstrate that change.

Student shows great creativity in locomotor and non locomotor movement and always maintains spacing with the rest of the group.

Student is generally distracted and may be a distraction to the entire rehearsal process/ Teacher reminds student continually about what is expected during a rehearsal.

Student is on task and giving effort 50% of the time. Teacher frequently reminds student about what is expected during rehearsal. After the reminder, the student regains focus.

Student is on task and giving effort 80% of the time. Teacher gives an occasional reminder to student about what is expected during rehearsal. After the reminder, student regains focus.
Excellent
Student is on task 100% of the time. Teacher does not need to reminds student of expectations during rehearsal.
