Often 'misses' the catch and the student's passing often doesn't get to the intended person. Carries the ball in 2
hands and can complete stationary passes.
When ball is caught, player hesitates to run forward, does not display proper mechanics when passing

Usually catches and passes the ball and is accurate with their passing on their
preferred side.
Mechanics limited with passing, does not turn hips to face teammate.
When ball is caught may or may not run at full speed.

Consistently catches and passes the ball and are accurate with their passing

Uses proper mechanics- turn hips and faces target. Runs full speed when ball is caught, passes prior to flags being pulled.

Has some knowledge of the basic rules but does not use them to their advantage.

Has a good knowledge of the rules and uses them to their advantage such as the touch count.
Stays in line with ball carrier or slightly behind, but may become offsides during games.
Exceeds Expectations

Has a good knowledge of the rules and uses them to their advantage such as when to form a scrum, knock on and advantages and live balls are free to grab.

Uses some of the offensive strategies (switch, fake pass, kicks) in appropriate
