Elementary Soccer Skills Assessment 
Students will be assessed on their overall ability and attitude toward the game of soccer. Students will be assessed on their performance of soccer skills, technique and sportsmanship.

Dribbling, Passing and Recieving

Dribbling ball

Adequate but needs improvement

Student uses toes to kick the ball, does not have control and constantly chasing after the ball. When the ball is turned there is not control of the ball.
Meets a proficient level

Student only dribbles with one foot and only uses one surface of their foot to dribble. When turning the ball has to stop it instead of using inside or outside of foot.
Meets or exceeds excellence

Student uses both feet and shows they can dribble forward using an inside/outside pattern with their foot. When turing they use either the inside or outside of the foot.
Passing the ball to a Partner

Adequate but needs improvement

Student passes the ball with their toe and ball does not reach their target.
Meets a proficient level

Student passes the ball with the inside of their foot but it does not reach their partners foot.
Meets or exceeds excellence

Student passes the ball to their partners foot. <BR>
They use the inside of their foot to pass and plants the opposite foot next to the ball.
Receiving a pass from a partner

Adequate but needs improvement

Student does not communicate with their partner and is flat on their feet. The ball bounces away and is not controlled with two touches
Meets a proficient level

Student communicates they want a pass and receives the ball using the inside of the foot but has to control it with two touches.
Meets or exceeds excellence

Student communicates with partner they want a pass and receives the ball with the inside of the foot under control in one touch.
Participation

Adequate but needs improvement

Student occasionally participates or spends a lot of time standing around or chatting to friends on the field
Meets a proficient level

Student participates most often and follows the ball around the field, will sometimes wait for a pass.
Meets or exceeds excellence

Student participates every class and moves around the field constantly following the ball.
Sportsmanship

Adequate but needs improvement

Student occasionally does not respect others and/or themselves.
Meets a proficient level

Student encourages and respects others, listens to others/teacher when they are talking.
Meets or exceeds excellence

Student encourages and respects others and themselves. They make sure to listen to the teacher and others in a respectable manner.
