PHYSICAL EDUCATION RUBRIC
	Advanced 4 pts	Proficient 3 pts	Partially Proficient 2 pts	Unsatisfactory 1 pts	IE 0 pts
Engagement	Advanced Student is always Fully Engaged. Always on task and never needs reminding about anything.	Proficient Student is Engaged. Mostly on task and rarely needs reminding about anything.	Partially Proficient Student needs frequent reminders to remain engaged.	Unsatisfactory Student constantly needs reminding to participate and remain on task.	IE Student chooses not to participate or remain on task.
Respect/Cooperation/Safety	Advanced Student always respects teachers, other adults, and fellow classmates. Student always follows directions the first time given and obeys all safety rules.	Proficient Student had to be reminded once to respect others and/or follow directions safely.	Partially Proficient Student needed to be reminded to show respect to others twice in the class and or follow directions safely.	Unsatisfactory Student needs to be reminded three times to show respect to others and/or follow directions safely during the class.	IE Student needed to be removed from the activity for insubordination or disrupting the education of others.
Preparation	Advanced Clean P.E. Clothes, Socks and Shoes as per school guidelines. Shoes safely secured. Always Fully Prepared for all classroom lessons.	Proficient 1st offense incomplete/inappropriate class attire Always brings materials for classroom lessons.	Partially Proficient +2nd offense incomplete/inappropriate class attire Occasionally unprepared for classroom lessons.	Unsatisfactory +3rd offense<BR> incomplete/inappropriate class attire Usually unprepared for classroom lessons.	IE Student did not dress for P.E class Did not prepare for any classroom lessons.
Cardiovascular/Core	Advanced Student jogs the entire amount of time. Stretches correctly and completes all core activities without reminders.	Proficient Student jogs 90% of the amount of time. Stretches correctly and completes core with minimal reminders.	Partially Proficient Student jogs 80% of the amount of time. Does most stretches correctly and completes core with 3 or more reminders.	Unsatisfactory Student jogs 70% of the amount of time. Does some stretches correctly and completes some of the core work.	IE Student jogs 50% of the amount of time. Does not participate in stretching and does not do core work.
