Informative Speech
Students will give a persuasive speech to their peers. They will be assessed on use of persuasive language, content and style of delivery.

Ideas flow smoothly from introduction to conclusion. Transitions are generally effective. Some transitions could be clearer, but generally comprehensible.

Thoughts are clearly organized, developed, and supported to achieve the purpose. Transitions are effectively utilized to create a smooth transition from point to point.

The speaker ended the speech abruptly without conclusion.

The speaker concluded the speech by adequately summarizing the main points.

The speaker quickly summarized the main points, referred back to the introduction to bring the speech full circle, and left the audience with a lasting impression!

Audience had difficulty hearing and/or understanding much of the speech due to low volume. Very little expression was shown.

The speaker maintained good posture. Movements were purposeful and enhanced the delivery of the speech. Facial expressions were comfortable and showed enthusiasm for the topic.

Demonstrates little practice. Reads almost all information. Less than 3 minute long or repeats information to fill time.
Fair

Demonstrates some practice, though reads most information. Some unnecessary repetition. 3-3.5minutes long
Good

Demonstrates decent practice, though reads about half of the information. 4-4.5 minutes long
Excellent

Demonstrates practice, reads minimal amount from notes, 5 minutes long
