Fundamental Skills

Dribbling	Poor Rarely had control of the ball while dribbling and had to look down at the ball the entire time.	Fair Controlled the ball with fingertips about 50% of the time. Sometimes lost control of the ball while speed dribbling, and still looked down some of the time.	Good Had control of the ball most of the time while speed dribbling, seldom looking down at the ball. Mostly used my fingertips for controlling the ball.	Excellent Almost always controlled the ball with fingertips. Always was in control while speed dribbling and always had my head up, not looking down at the ball.
Ballhandling	Poor Rarely could perform the ballhandling drills with precision and could not use my weak hand.	Fair Sometimes could perform the ballhandling drills with precision but rarely use my weak hand.	Good Often could perform the ballhandling drills with precision and could almost use both hands equally.	Excellent Always could perform ballhandling drills with precision and was strong using both hands.
Layups	Poor Rarely used the correct technique when shooting a layup.	Fair Sometimes used the correct technique when shooting a layup. Sometimes my opposite leg went up or I shot off two feet.	Good Often used the correct technique when shooting a layup. I mostly shot off one foot, my outside leg was usually up, and I shot with one hand reaching up to the square.	Excellent Always used the correct technique when shooting a layup. I shot off one foot only, my outside leg was up, and I shot with one hand reaching up to the square.
Passing	Poor Rarely made quick and crisp passes while stepping toward the target. Passes were always soft and I never stepped toward my target.	Fair Sometimes made quick and crisp passes while stepping toward the target, but my passes were mostly soft. I sometimes stepped toward my target.	Good Often made quick and crisp passes while stepping toward the target. My thumbs were behind the ball and I followed through on the release.	Excellent Always made quick and crisp passes while stepping toward the target. My thumbs were behind the ball and I followed through on the release.
