Criteria
	Poor 1 pts	Fair 2 pts	Good 3 pts	Excellent 4 pts
Adjectives	Poor Uses few adjectives and they do not accurately describe the pictures.	Fair Uses at least 4 adjectives, but with errors. Adjectives are not changed to apply to females.	Good Uses at least 6 adjectives, mostly correctly.	Excellent Uses 10 or more adjectives correctly, distinguishing between men and women.
Clothing Vocabulary	Poor Vocabulary is very limited, and poorly describes what the people are wearing.	Fair Some basic vocabulary is used, but student doesn't distinguish styles, materials or even color.	Good The vocabulary used is appropiate to the student's level and describes what the poeple are wearing.	Excellent The vocabulary used is wide and accurate. Student describes color, material, style, etc.
Grammar	Poor Several grammar mistakes make the descriptions hard to understand. Student doesn’t seem to notice his/her mistakes	Fair Grammar mistakes are important. Student tries to correct himself/herself when he/she notices them.	Good Occasionally shows some grammar mistakes that interfere a bit with the meaning of what is being conveyed.	Excellent Almost no grammar mistakes. If present, they are too few to mention.
Fluency	Poor Student stops almost after every couple of words to complete a sentence. Descriptions are clearly interrupted and slow.	Fair Student makes pauses between sentences every now and then. Descriptions are interrupted.	Good Student sometimes stops for one or two seconds to recollect his ideas, which are expressed relatively fluently.	Excellent Student rarely stops to recollect his/her ideas. Ideas are expressed fluently during the descriptions.
