Visual Representation of the Writing Process The 6 Visual Elements of Art After learning the 6 steps of the Writing Process the students will create a visual representation of the writing process. Craftsmanship	Non -Mastery Student completed the minimum, and project was not completed	Partial Mastery Student completed the project and used one of the ideas suggested in class, yet the lack of planning was evident	Mastery The project shows that the students thought about the finished product and completed it.	Exemplary The project is completed with evidence of planning.
Creativity	Non -Mastery The student work lacked sincere originality	Partial Mastery The student work used a strategy suggested in class	Mastery The student work used a strategy suggested in class with extra flair.	Exemplary The student work demonstrated a unique level of originality.
Effort/Skill	Non -Mastery Students did not finish their work in a satisfactory manner, and their work reflected a lack of understanding	Partial Mastery The students completed their work, but the 6 steps are not in order or some information is missing.	Mastery The student showed an above average understanding of the 6 step process. They gave definitions and examples provided in class and maybe used some of their own.	Exemplary The student showed the 6 step process in their own words and added art work or graphics and examples.
Class Participation	Non -Mastery Student did not help with project or contributed in a minimal way.	Partial Mastery Student engages in project in a sporadic manner.	Mastery Student work reflects an understanding of the 6 step writing process. They can answer questions about their work.	Exemplary Student continually answers questions and shares his/her feelings about the subject on an above average level.
