Dribble Basketball	Needs improvement Student cannot dribble the basketball with control while moving	Satisfactory Student can dribble the basketball while moving -May lose control of the ball -Cannot dribble with head up	Good Student can dribble the basketball with good control and proper positioning -Student dribbles with head up sometimes.	Excellent Student can use both hands to dribble the ball. Control is easily retained. Student's head is up at all times
Shoot Basketball	Needs improvement -Student uses inconsistent technique for the shot. -Student does not follow through. -Student uses two hands to "push-shoot"	Satisfactory Student can sometimes shoot the ball successfully, and with adequate technique.. -Student sometimes follows through. -Student uses two hands instead of one to shoot.	Good Student shoots the ball correctly. -Student follows through. -Student is usually successful in shooting.	Excellent Student is aware of the necessity of "squaring up" for the shot. Follow through is maintained, and shots are successful a high percentage of the time.
Game Play	Needs improvement Student does not follow the rules of basketball. -Student argues with other players. -Student has little understanding of positioning and game play -Student often is not involved in the play	Satisfactory Student sometimes follows the rules of basketball. -Student does not always show proper defensive or offensive skills -Student is sometimes not involved in the play	Good Student consistently follows the rules of basketball. -Student is a team player. -Student has good understanding of offensive and defensive play -student is always involved in the game.	Excellent Student creates offensive opportunities, and encourages others. Demonstrates leadership by helping others in their roles on the court. Defensive play is strong and student has a good grasp of strategies & tactics.
Teamwork/communication	Needs improvement Students will not share ideas or listen to their classmates. Student keeps to themselves and will not work with classmates.	Satisfactory Student gives their opinion but will not listen to other people's ideas. Student works well with a partner but not on a team.
