How to Speech
	Beginning 1 pts	Developing 2 pts	Proficient 3 pts
Body Language	Beginning I moved around or rocked back and forth. I had my back to the audience.	Developing I moved around a little bit, and sometimes the audience couldn't see what I was doing.	Proficient I stood up straight, and moved naturally. I faced the audience so they could see what I was doing.
Speaking/Clarity	Beginning I spoke too quietly, too fast, or too slowly. It was difficult to hear me or understand me. I had no excitement in my voice.	Developing I was a little too fact or too slow. Sometimes it was hard to hear me. Sometimes I spoke with a little bit of expression.	Proficient My voice was loud enough for people to hear. I didn't speak too fast or too slow and people could understand me. You could tell that I had practiced a lot.
Sequence	Beginning My steps were out of order and I left out some steps.	Developing I forgot to use time order words, and the procedure is unclear.	Proficient I gave all of my steps in the correct order, using time order words. I had a strong conclussion.
Eye Contact	Beginning I looked at my feet or the ceiling and not the audience. I read from my book the whole time.	Developing I looked at the audience sometimes. I stared straight ahead or at my book.	Proficient I used my book occasionally, but most of the time I looked around making eye contact with my audience.
Props	Beginning I didn't have any props or materials to show the audience.	Developing I didn't use my props effectively.	Proficient I had my props and I knew how and when to use them. I had my props at school on time.
