Tree Plate Content	Exceeds Expectations The tree plate includes all required criteria (i.e. tools were properly used, correct color choice for each segment, all segments present).	Meets Expectations The plate includes all required criteria; however, it is somewhat unorganized or space is not used effectively. Tools were used properly and the segments were colored correctly, however, the segments were drawn well out of proportion.	Needs Improvement The plate does not have all of the criteria (3 or more items are missing or incorrect). The plate is unorganized and space is not used well.	Unacceptable The plate is missing more than 3 of the required items. No organization is apparent and space is used poorly and tools were used incorrectly.
Work quality/effort	Exceeds Expectations The work done exceeds all expectations and shows that the learner is proud of his/her work. The effort that was put into this task is the best it can be by the learner.	Meets Expectations The work was done with good effort that shows what the learner is capable of. It is evident that time was put into the tree plate.	Needs Improvement The work was done with fair effort, but the quality is still not what the learner is capable of. It is evident that the work was rushed and/or was not well thought out.	Unacceptable The work was done with little effort and the quality is not what the learner is capable of. It is evident that the work was rushed and little time was spent on the final product. Work is also incomplete.
Scientific Data	Exceeds Expectations All visual scientific data is on the plate, complete knowledge of the tree parts is demonstrated correctly through the visual representation.	Meets Expectations Most of the visual scientific data is included on the plate, however the student does not demonstrate full knowledge of the tree parts.	Needs Improvement Very little visual scientific data is included on the plate. The student demonstrates very limited knowledge of the tree parts.	Unacceptable No visual scientific data regarding trees is present on the plate. The student is unable to demonstrate adequate knowledge of the tree parts.
