Holding a Guitar	Poor Student is not able to hold a guitar in the proper manner and needs direct instruction.	Good Student is generally able to hold the guitar but needs some instruction in the placement of the hands and fingers.	Excellent Student is proficient at holding guitar without instruction and places fingers and hands in proper position.
Naming Strings	Poor Student is able to name 1-2 strings of the guitar.	Good Student is able to name 3-4 strings of the guitar.	Excellent Student is able to name 5-6 strings of the guitar.
Playing	Poor Student is able to play to play the melody but has many mistakes.	Good Student is able to play the melody but has some mistakes.	Excellent Student is able to play the entire melody with no mistakes.
3 String Chords	Poor Student is able to play one chord.	Good Student is able to play 2 - 3 chords.	Excellent Student is able to play more than 3 chords.
Reading Tabs	Poor Student is not able to read tabs.	Good Student has limited knowledge of reading tabs.	Excellent Student is able to read tabs proficiently.
Proper Use of Guitar	Poor Student is careless with the guitar.	Good Student is somewhat responsible with the guitar.	Excellent Student is very careful and responsible with the guitar.
