Content Comments should try to accomplish a variety of purposes such as identifying the main idea, author's purpose, tone, evidence, structure, diction, questions, reflections, opinion/facts, inferences, literary devices, reflection, etc.	Proficient Comments accomplish a great variety of purposes. Understanding is evident. Thoughtful connections are made and comments original	Acceptable Comments are present but lack a diversity of purposes Understanding is mostly evident, but unclear at times Though connections are made, commentary lacks uniqueness. Just copying.	Unacceptable Comments are present BUT too infrequent to demonstrate understanding.
Stategies Close reading should be evident from start to finish. Use strategies to be efficient.	Proficient Consistent markings throughout text (not bunched).
