Written Instructions 30 %	Poor Written instructions are hard to follow, and incomplete. Consumers will have difficulty assembling the product.	Fair Written instructions are capable of interpretation for assembly with some evaluations/assumptions made by the consumer in order to complete the process.	Good Written instructions are clear, complete, concise, and most consumers would be able to assemble the product correctly.	Exceptional Written instructions are clear, complete, concise, and ALL consumers would be able to assembly the product correctly.
Visual/Graphics 40 %	Poor Graphics do not complement the written instructions and may only include an assembled representation.	Fair Some graphics are included throughout the steps of the building process. Graphics are clear, and easy to comprehend.	Good Graphics complement written instructions well, and clearly represent the relationship of assembled parts.	Exceptional Graphics could be used as a supplement to written instructions. Steps in the building process include detailed graphics for each step.
Design/Layout 20 %	Poor Layout is difficult to follow. Many steps are left out of the building process.	Fair A parts list is included and referenced throught the process. Steps are complete, however somewhat difficult to follow.	Good Manual provides an easy-to-follow layout. Parts list includes both visual & written descriptions and are referenced throughout the manual.	Exceptional Manual is neat & professional; provides easy-to-follow layout; parts lists with visual & written descriptions are included and referenced in each step.
Mechanics 10 %	Poor Multiple spelling and grammar errors	Fair Minor spelling and grammar errors.	Good Only one spelling or grammar error.	Exceptional Spelling and grammar are perfect.
