Approaches Standards
Shows a sense of designer's vision and detail, but could be more specific. Missing important dimensions/ detail. Line weights are in consistent or incorrect. There are some problems concerning movement from a director's point of view.
Exceeds Standards
Shows a clear vision of the design's footprint with complete dimensions and detail. It is clear that the designer has researched the space and has a clear understanding of space and movement.
Lighting Plan

Non existent or greatly lacking in sufficient detail. No paper work is included.
Approaches Standards
Plot is present, but does not convey all required information. Some paperwork is missing or inaccurate. Line weights/ colors are incorrect or confusing. Acting areas are illogical or not present.

Plot and paperwork are clear and informative. All information is conveyed in the documents. Line weights/colors are correct. Shows a clear vision for the execution of the show's lighting, with logical acting areas.
Elevations

Fully detailed with a true sense of the "feel" of the show. Dimensions are clear and with correct line weights.
Working Drawings
Below Standards
Non existent or greatly lacking in detail and dimensions. It is unclear as to how the scenery is to be constructed.
Approaches Standards
Some, but not all dimensions are shown. Human figure may not be shown, but scale is noted by another means. Special construction methods are noted throughout the plates. Line weights are incorrect.
Exceeds Standards
Items are fully dimensioned and detailed. Where needed, sections views are included. Plates leave not doubt whatsoever concerning the construction of the elements shown.
Section Views

Rendering is somewhat detailed, but is lacking some visual elements which are integral to the overall design. While the technique is progressing, the information conveyed is still lacking a sense of completeness.
Exceeds Standards
Rendering is a fleshed out vision of the overall scenic and lighting design. The element of design are clearly incorporated and detail, including the human figure, is clear. Gives a true sense of the mood.
Painter's Elevations
Below Standards
Non existent, or lacking in detail to the point of confusion.
Approaches Standards
Elevations are included, but they are incomplete, mis-labeled, or lack a clear design choice. Dimensions, where needed, are not present. No scale is noted on plates.
Exceeds Standards
Elevations are clear, neat and well notated. There is a clear visual communication of the designer's intent. It is evident that the designer has invested time and research into the project.
Title Blocks
Below Standards
Either is missing or there is no consistency from one plate to the next.
Approaches Standards
Title Blocks are present, but do not contain all information needed to guide the reader/TD.
Line weights are incorrect.
Exceeds Standards
Title Blocks are clear and informative, giving the viewer all information needed to properly build/navigate the design.
Spider Grid Rendering

Non existent or incomplete.
Approaches Standards
Somewhat complete, but lacking important details and a sense of a specific design idea.
Exceeds Standards
A clear and communicative tool for sharing the design idea to the director and technicians. Clearly titled and detailed.
Overall Design
Below Standards
No effort was made to establish a clear concept. Work is, at best, incomplete and does not convey an overall plan or vision.
Approaches Standards
The conceptual ideas are present, though may not be fully realized in this phase of the work. Designer should do further research and provide clearer detail for a complete package to be present.
Exceeds Standards
Ideas are clear and the design serves the project very well. The design is specific and based on clear and abundant research. Designer has considered all elements and gives the director ample room to stage in an interesting manner.
