State Project State Project Directions: You will first be assigned one state from a region. Next, you will have to conduct research using your selected book, internet, and or additional resources. You will need to find at least two famous people from that state and write about them. Example, state flag, state capital, state motto. Example, write short sentence about each of those topics. Spelling and Grammar	Poor Packet has spelling and grammar errors. The presentation is extremely hard to understand.	Fair Many spelling and/or grammatical errors.	Good Some spelling or grammar errors, needed some proof-reading.	Excellent Only one or two mis-spellings or grammatical errors. Near perfection
Neatness and Appeal	Poor Looks very thrown together. Messy. No pictures.	Fair Not neat. Handwriting or font type is very messy. Not much color. Not enough photos.	Good Has some color, but is still a bit sloppy. Only two or three pictures.	Excellent Very colorful, and looks professional. Full of photos and pictures.
Writing/Facts	Poor The packet simply contains no facts whatsoever.	Fair There are very few facts.	Good Many of these statements are not true. Also, not enough facts.	Excellent The packet is full of factual information about the state. famous people, state bird, state flag, state flower, capital city, fun facts about the state, famous landmarks and one category of your choice (state motto, surrounding states, etc).
Collage	Poor Collage is missing important information.	Fair Collage shows some relevant facts of the state.	Good Collage provides many pictures/illustrations and information on the state.	Excellent Collage is appealing, informative, and states relevant facts with many illustrations.
