Simile and Metaphor Posters This rubric is what I will use to grade my students' posters that they have been assigned to create about similes and metaphors. It lays out how everything should look and what my expectations are for the final product. Neatness	Poor The simile/metaphor example is written out but is unreadable and very messy and the picture is very messy to the point where I can not tell what it is.	Fair The simile/metaphor example is written out but it difficult to read and the picture drawn is messy but I am still able to tell what it is.	Good The simile/metaphor example is written out but is a little difficult to read and the picture is drawn a little messy.	Excellent The simile/ metaphor example is written out neatly, the picture is drawn neatly and not scribbled, and it is easy to read.
Correctness of the example	Poor Both the simile and the metaphor examples are incorrect examples.	Fair One of the examples (whether it is the simile or the metaphor example) is incorrect, but the other example is correct and creative.	Good The example for the both the simile and the metaphor are correct examples but are basic and not very creative.	Excellent The example for both the simile and the metaphor are correct examples and were thought of creatively.
Appearance	Poor Neither of the posters are completed.	Fair One of the posters is completed, colorful, and creative but the other one is not.	Good Both posters are completed but lack being very colorful or creative. The written example is there but the picture drawn does not match the example.	Excellent Both posters are completed, colorful, creative, and feature both a neat written example as well as a creative picture to match that example.
Presentation of Posters	Poor Neither of the posters were completed or presented to the class.	Fair Only one poster was presented to the class (because the other was not completed) in a clear way with a loud voice.	Good Both posters are presented to the class but not clearly and it is hard to hear the presenters. Only one partner spoke.	Excellent Both posters are presented clearly to the class in a loud voice and both partners contribute to explaining the posters.
